TheraPLAYoga is Mid-Michigan’s first & only adaptive yoga studio, focused on therapeutic classes for children & adults with complex needs, chronic conditions, & challenges.
To practice here, means to practice compassion— for yourself & others.
✅ Inclusive & Accessible: ALL classes are designed to be accessible and inclusive, with a focus on awareness & respect to individual needs and abilities. People with (any) disabilities aren’t just welcome; they’re included & belong in ANY class they can safely participate.
✅ Therapeutic & Somatic Approach: Classes are trauma-sensitive and weave together elements of yoga philosophy, sensory integration, therapeutic movement, and relaxation; emphasizing a safe & agency-based experience.
✅ Supported Practice: Studio is fully equipped with common props like chairs, bolsters, cushions, blankets, straps, and blocks; less common props like sensory tools and communication prompts. You can bring or borrow a mat. Chairs are available in ANY class.
✅ Experienced Facilitator: Gloria’s experience goes beyond training, education, and teaching; she knows this stuff, because she lives this stuff. Gloria is an openly trauma-impacted, neurodivergent, disabled woman with chronic conditions and mom to a teen boy with complex developmental disabilities and health conditions.
Please note: TheraPLAYoga classes are limited capacity and specifically designed for individuals living with disabilities, trauma, or other chronic health challenges. To ensure accessibility for intended students, participation or observation by other yoga professionals, current or in training, is not permitted.
